About FormatFusion

FormatFusion exists because converting a file shouldn't mean handing it to a stranger.

Most online converters work by uploading your file to their servers, converting it there, and letting you download the result. That means your photos, contracts, and recordings sit on someone else's machine, and you have to trust that they delete them.

We built FormatFusion the other way around. The conversion engines (the same open-source libraries professionals use, including FFmpeg) are compiled to WebAssembly and run inside your browser. When you convert a file here, it travels from one folder on your device to another. It never crosses the internet at all.

That architecture is why FormatFusion can promise things upload-based converters can't:

• Real privacy: there is no server that ever sees your files.
• No metering: your conversions cost us nothing, so there are no daily caps or credit systems.
• Speed: no upload and no download queue, just your own hardware working directly.

Today FormatFusion offers 161+ converters across images, audio, video, documents, and data files, and the catalog keeps growing. The site is supported by unobtrusive advertising, which keeps every tool free for everyone.
