Are my files uploaded to your servers?
No, and this is what makes FormatFusion different. All conversion happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device, which also means there's nothing for us to store, scan, or leak.
Is there a file size limit?
Free converts files up to 1 GB each, which is many times more than typical converter sites allow on their free tiers. Pro removes the cap entirely, up to what your device's memory handles (roughly 1.5 GB for video).
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. FormatFusion works in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows, and Linux. Converting iPhone HEIC photos to JPG is one of our most popular tools.
How is quality preserved?
Lossless targets (PNG, WAV, FLAC, ZIP-packed pages) keep every bit of the original. Lossy targets (JPG, WebP, MP3) use high-quality settings of 92% for images and 192 kbps for audio, matching what professional tools default to.
